Week Three: Writing and Wool& Dress Challenge

Writing Update: Last week I was discouraged with the process of writing. I started freewriting- in attempt to brain dump the story in my head. But I felt like I was getting lost along the way.

So this last week the PLAN was to try the post-it note technique:

Well- that got derailed- if I am 100% honest.

Friday March 1st- I participated in the sweetest event at the Utah School for the Deaf. They were having an Art show. Local Deaf artist had their work displayed and the children's work was displayed too!

My Simple to Sign book- illustrators were there at the event. I got funds from Sorenson Communication, who agreed to provide books for free to the school! Students were able to pick their favorite book and then get it signed by the Deaf artist! It was such a beautiful night.

While at the event, several parents and teachers asked if I would consider writing a book for older grades.

So I have been preoccupied with this writing idea. But I think it is a worthy cause- and it still counts as "writing" but I have not touched the romcom story that I was dreaming about.

We'll see if I can get back into the swing next week.

Dress Challenge Update:

It was a crazy cold week! Lots of layering and even another pants day.

I do love the Brooklyn with the elastic waist.

I wear some "high waisted" pants and skirts- so wearing the Brooklyn that has an elastic waist has not been an issue- but I am realizing a dress that does not have this feature (an elastic waist) - might be more versatile?

For my "reward" dress- I am going to explore dresses that are shift or swing styles. I love the silhouette of the Brooklyn, yet I want a variety of "styles" in my limited wardrobe.
